Brixham Baywalks

Brixham Baywalks Walks is run by trained volunteers as part of the national Wellbeing Walks.  We use 2 routes round the beautiful Berry Head, the coast path and easier flat inland route stopping at several places to admire the view. Both routes are at the pace of the slowest walkers so no pressure.  We have a choice of coffee/tea stops on the way The Berry Head Hotel or The Guard House.  The walk is approximately 3 mile back to the meeting point at the junction of Gillard Road and Century Road TQ5 9EG.

Dartmouth Walk and Talk Thursdays

Come and join us on a Thursday for a friendly sociable walk!

We are an informal walking group based in Dartmouth. Anyone is very welcome to join our walks, but you do so entirely at your own risk. Listed walks may be changed or cancelled at short notice, for example should inclement weather make walking conditions unsuitable or hazardous. There is no charge for attending these walks, all we ask is that you bring enough money to join us for refreshments at the end if you would like to; and for the ferry where indicated in the ‘Location’ column with (£).

Men’s Wellbeing Walk

Our weekly Men’s Wellbeing Walk is specifically aimed at men to help support their mental health and wellbeing.

This group will allow men to come along and feel the benefit of getting out in the fresh air, connecting with others and enjoying the positive effect that spending time outside in our wonderful environment can have. Increasing our activity levels and connection with others can be a key strategy in lifting mood and reducing anxiety, and joining a walking group is a great way to start, one step at a time!

Kingskerswell & Newton Abbot Tuesday Grade 2-3

Friendly group walks with plenty of smiles and often a cuppa are what make Walk This Way special.

Our Grade 2 to 3 combination social walks take place weekly throughout beautiful areas in Teignbridge, exploring open spaces, parks, woodlands, and nature reserves. Our walks offer longer adventures of up to 90 minutes, sometimes on uneven ground with inclines, steps, or stiles. Both walks include plenty of pauses to enjoy the scenery, spot local wildlife, or simply take a moment to rest.

Meeting points vary and may include local bus stops or the train station. Car parking and toilets are often available depending on the route. We provide a full timetable of walks in advance to enable you to choose the best walk for you.

Kingskerswell Wednesday Grade 2-3

Our Wellbeing Walks take place regularly on Wednesdays and offer a wonderful way to stay active, enjoy beautiful surroundings, and share the experience with friendly company. These walks are not limited to Kingskerswell, they explore a range of lovely routes in the area. Each week brings a different route to explore, from peaceful countryside paths to scenic coastal trails and charming village lanes. Every walk offers its own character and beauty, making each outing a fresh experience to enjoy with great company. Walks vary in length and challenge, with shorter routes around 60 minutes and longer ones up to 90 minutes, sometimes including inclines or uneven ground.

If you want to feel good, meet new people, and keep active, these walks are a perfect choice. They are regularly lovely walks with great company, so come along and make them part of your week.

Abbotskerswell Wednesday Grade 2-3

Join us every two weeks for this Grade 2–3 circular walk through Abbotskerswell’s beautiful countryside. We’ll wander along a scenic bridleway and peaceful green lanes, perfect for enjoying nature and meeting lovely people. 🐾 Dogs and their humans always have a great time with us! It’s a wonderful chance to share smiles and make new friends. After the walk, treat yourself to a relaxing coffee at Orchard Coffee and Crafts.

We start at the Netball Court Car Park and head along Vicarage Road (a peaceful cul-de-sac) before looping back through rolling countryside. There are no stiles or gates, and the green lanes stay calm during the week. Sturdy shoes or boots are recommended, and we’ll pause often to soak up the views and enjoy friendly chats along the way.

We start and finish in the Netball Court Car Park, Abbotskerswell, TQ12 5PD. Parking and public toilets nearby.

Newton Abbot Thursday Grade 1 (Decoy Country Park)

Step outside and reconnect with nature on our friendly, guided Wellbeing Walks. Whether you want to lift your mood, meet new people, or simply enjoy some fresh air, these walks are a gentle and enjoyable way to boost your health and wellbeing.

Every Thursday morning, we explore the beautiful Decoy Country Park on a Grade 1 walk lasting 20 – 60 minutes. Our route usually follows the scenic Blue Trail around the lake, with plenty of pauses to take in the views, spot local wildlife, and simply relax. Most weeks finish with a cuppa, the perfect chance to chat and unwind.

The path is mainly flat with gentle slopes and firm surfaces, making it accessible for pushchairs, wheelchairs, and mobility aids.

We’re a friendly, welcoming bunch and would love to see you there! Well-behaved dogs are welcome too!

We meet just before 11 am between the Decoy Kiosk (Apps Ice Cream) and the watersports center. Car parking nearby (charges apply). Public toilets nearby.

The old style (Grade 2) Monday walks meet in the Town Square
Most of our walks involve using local buses in order to add variety to our walks and to enable us to sometimes do linear walks.
So starting times vary according to the bus route used but are between 09.30 and 10.15.

Start:

Kingsbridge walk and Talk, Grade 3

Meet at the bandstand on the Quay in Kingsbridge for 1325
This walk is for people who have undertaken the old style Walking for Health grade 3 walk) and are now looking to take their next steps.

These walks are 90 minutes in duration, cover 4 to 5 miles and are likely to include slopes, steps, stiles and uneven surfaces.
Stops for rest and drinks usually add up to about another 30 minutes, while travelling to and from the start and finish of a walk can occupy anything up to an hour in total (usually 30-40 minutes).
We leave from Quay House at 1330 and are normally back in Kingsbridge by 1630. Contact Tony Watson, 07831 692652 for more information
