We’re excited to highlight our Wellbeing Walking Group in Torquay, held fortnightly and open to all. Starting from the historic Spanish Barn—linked to the era of the Spanish Armada—this scenic walk takes in stunning views of the harbour with its 1,000 berths, enjoyed from a bird’s eye perspective along the pier.
The route also includes sights like The Princess Theatre, which opened in the early 1960s, and The Pavilion, a Grade II listed building rich in cultural and historical significance.
Increasing our activity levels and connecting with others can be a key strategy in lifting mood and reducing anxiety. Joining a walking group can be a wonderful way to start—one step at a time!
Please register on the website below and then enrol onto the walk as this will help us get an idea of the numbers to expect, and allow us to notify you of any cancellations due to weather or Walk Leader holiday/illness etc.
If you have any difficulties enrolling, please let us know and we will do all we can to help you to register and enrol.
Further recommendations and walk information:
Please remember to bring suitable footwear and clothing. We walk at a gentle pace allowing us to be as accessible as possible for all abilities and will do our best to pace the walk to the needs of our slowest walker where at all possible.
If you do have any physical health conditions that would be adversely impacted by gentle to moderate walking, then please check with your GP before participating. Please also bring a completed ICE card with you in case of emergency.
We look forward to welcoming you.
