Ringstead Full Moon Walk

We will be walking into the night from Ringstead Bay. Asdusk falls we will be on wide level tracks following the upper line of the coast from Daggers Gate back to Ringstead. 1 or 2 brief stops.

Houns Tout - St Aldhelm’s Head & Corfe Castle

Kingston to Houns Tout, Chapmans Pool, St Aldhelm's head, Corfe and back to Kingston.
There are two very steep descents on this walk. However, the ascents are gradual and not too demanding.

Make the most of the summer opening of the Lulwoth Ranges for walkers. Walk includes Flowers Barrow, Tyneham, Tyneham Cap and Creech Hill. Great views. One serious descent at Flowers Barrow.

Starts at 10:00: Kingcombe nature reserve car park. If full, there is an overflow car park for the reserve just up the road (DT2 0EQ, SY555991)

A walk through kingcombe meadows reserve into undulating countryside and back through powerstock common and toller porcorum.

Jubilee Trail Walk
Starts at 10:30: The walk starts from Osmington Drove in Broadmayne. Please park considerately on the side of the road. (DT2 8FG, SY730864)

The walk climbs from Broadmayne to the South Dorset Ridgeway with its excellent views over Weymouth Bay and numerous burial mounds (barrows). The walk joins the Jubilee Trail near Came Woods and passes through the walled hamlet of Whitcombe where the Church has connections with the Dorset dialect poet, William Barnes. We then follow the Jubilee Trail through the pretty village of West Knighton before returning to Broadmayne

This one of the series of walks organised by Dorset Ramblers over the weekend of 24-25 September to celebrate the role played by Rosemary Bramah in establishing and maintaining the Jubilee Trail across Dorset.
