Share your paths progress with our Path Improvement Tracker

Help us meet our ambitious target of opening and improving 2,000 miles of paths

Access to Britain’s paths, tracks and trails is vital

Walking is simple, free and one of the most straightforward ways to get more active and become healthier – yet many people struggle to access the outdoors.

One way to help people get out walking is to make sure that they have easy, unrestricted access to their local rights of way. As a footpath warden or a volunteer in a path maintenance team, you’re helping your local community access the outdoors and get the most out of walking.

And you’re joined by hundreds of others across England and Wales who are working towards the same goal.

Share your progress as we work towards our 2,000-mile target

With so much great work taking place we’re keen to measure the impact of all your hard work. We’ve set ourselves the ambitious target of improving and opening 2,000 miles of paths.

By completing the Path Improvement Tracker each time your group do some path maintenance work, you can make sure that your impact is included towards our 2,000-mile target and help us understand what types of improvements are being made. You’ll also give us a better idea of our impact locally, regionally and nationally.

Help us to advocate for path maintenance

The Ramblers work to improve people’s access to walking in many ways. By recording your progress each time you finish some work, you can help us to strengthen our case as we advocate for more maintenance resources from highway authorities and fundraise in support of path maintenance.

You’ll also help us raise awareness of the fantastic work our path maintenance teams  and path wardens do – sharing your hard work and encouraging others to play their part.

Campaign with us - protect the places we walk

Walking is a simple pleasure that should be open to everyone, so we campaign to remove barriers to walking and we protect the places we love to wander.
