Why volunteer
What you will gain from volunteering

Volunteering with the Ramblers is hugely rewarding and enjoyable – even the British weather doesn’t dampen our spirits!
Make a difference
By volunteering your time and sharing your skills, you’re making a big difference to the things that matter most to walkers. This might include finding lost paths or helping to protect our beautiful countryside.
Meet like-minded people
This is a chance to meet people who can inspire you and to build new friendships. You’ll receive a warm welcome and support from like-minded volunteers and a dedicated staff team equally passionate about walking and the outdoors.
Learn skills and knowledge
Through volunteering, you can learn new skills and use your existing skills in different ways, building confidence in areas that you’d like to develop for personal or professional reasons.
Gain a new hobby or interest
There’s no one way to ramble. You’ll discover new opportunities to try activities that you’ve never done before in a safe and supportive environment, all while helping maintain and protect the places we all love to walk.
Most of all, volunteering with the Ramblers is fun and will bring laughter to your day. You’ll be sure to rediscover the joy of walking!
