Overview

A lovely walk up Catbells from Portinscale.  Great views over Derwentwater with a lakeside walk on the return.  Walked at a moderate pace.  Please note the earlier meeting time as parking is limited.

Described by Wainwright as 'a fell where grandmothers and infants can climb the heights together', although he did qualify it with  '...should take care as they romp around', as there is a line of crags near the summit.  Because of this there are two small scrambles on the way up.
