An undulating walk through woods and farmland with views over the Oxfordshire plain and Chiltern Hills. 1,000ft of ascent, but none of the hills are steep. If you’re hoping to see Cowleaze Wood in its usual bluebell-carpeted glory, please be aware Forestry England’s operations have badly churned up parts of the wood, closed the car park and rendered the public footpath unusable, but don’t worry there is an excellent alternative path and there are still bluebells, and other spring flowers. There will be a snack stop half-way.
Well behaved dogs are allowed, they will need to be on a lead at times as there are sheep and lambs in some of the fields we will cross.
