Overview

Meet just past the Church on the main road in recessed area.

We walk south from Ivinghoe across fields and past the NT Pitstone windmill to reach Pitstone. We head toward the church and take a path along the local nature reserve towards Folly farm and then across Folly bridge. We will stop at College Lake. It is free entry on foot, but you can donate if you wish to. We will have a coffee stop for 20-30 minutes depending on our group size. There are lovely views across the lake from the café and there are toilets and a shop. Sorry no dogs allowed in, due to nesting birds. We will then continue around the lake in a Westerly direction, where there are views and photo opportunities aplenty, and pick up a footpath passing College Farm to a road. We cross and head towards Marsworth, with its pretty church and the Red Lion PH, where we will have our official lunch stop. We can use the benches if we buy a drink/snack from the bar. Again we will stop here about 20-30mons. From here we walk along the canal tow path of the Grand union canal (Aylesbury outer ring), to reach Seabrook swing bridge. One of very few public footpaths that cross the canal this way. We then walk through woods to reach the northern edge of Ivinghoe and come back into the main street opposite our start point. All the while we can see the outline of Pitstone Hill and Ivinghoe Beacon, but the walk itself is very flat. It may be muddy on the tow path after rain.

Bring a packed lunch

Sorry no dogs on this walk as College Lake have a zero tolerance policy due to nesting birds.
