The Mortimer Trail is a 30-mile route from Ludlow to Kington. This first section is a 10.5 mile route from Ludlow Castle through upland woodland to Croft Ambrey, with another 0.75-mile to National Trust's Croft Castle where there is a tea room (open until 16:30) and car park. Please note that there is an early start for this fascinating walk with plenty of interesting wildlife and history about the Mortimer family along the route, and splendid views of the Clee hills, the Malverns, and the Radnor Hills amongst others. Hopefully, we will be joined by members of the South Shropshire Ramblers including a Mortimer Trailblazer.
Walkers must book places by Thursday 16th May so that the walk leader and back marker are able to organise cars at the start and finish of the walk as this is a linear walk.
Abbey Foregate car park for car sharing. Still free to park on Sundays.
Castle Street car park, Ludlow. 60 pence per hour (which is the half price rate for Sundays)
