We are the York Ramblers. We open the way for everyone in our local community to enjoy the pleasures of walking.
A delightful 7 miles tour around the Fountains Abbey and Studley Park estates, including fields, woodland and water. There are many features of interest and (weather permitting) fine vistas. The undulating walk (170 m cumulative ascent/descent) involves field paths, stony bridleways and quiet tarmac lanes, including the ‘Seven Bridges’ walk and bits of the Ripon Rowel and Sanctuary Way.
Care is needed on a short stretch of road at the start, with a series of Z-bends and a short but noticeable pull uphill from the river. Cattle may be in fields.
