It is almost a century since Armistice Day brought the Great War to an end. This moderate 10 mile walk – a gem of a walk, not to be missed - from Tansley to the Sherwood Foresters regimental monument at Crich Stand, is in memory of that occasion.

This is a moderate figure of eight walk of approximately 11 miles (6.5 miles in the morning) commencing from the historic village of Laxton in North Nottinghamshire. Please note that there are toilets and a Visitor Centre at the start. Laxton has the last remaining working open field system in the country and we pass through or nearby the three fields in question during the day. In the morning we head north to the pretty village of Egmanton and return to the Dovecote Inn for lunch. In the afternoon we go south to Mill Field before returning to Laxton.

A moderate 8 mile ramble up Hunshelf Bank to the Isle of Skye Quarry with panoramic views over Stocksbridge and Deepcar, returning via the TPT, Wortley Leppings and the beautiful Upper Don Valley to Tin Mill Ponds. Lunch stop at picnic tables on TPT. (Before and after the walk, the nearby Fox Valley Shopping Centre offers plenty of food/drink opportunities.)

Following on from our Dronsfield Circular walk this memorial walk for Bert Ward - a pioneer for rambling, starts in Holmesfield. We will walk via Totley to have a lunch break at Fox House and return via the Longshaw Estate. This 11.5 mile, strenuous walk has, according to N.M.C., 1729ft of ascent.

A very pleasant, moderate, 10 mile ramble through scenic countryside from Langsett to Bolsterstone and back. A few ups and downs along the way but nothing too serious! Longer than normal lunch in Bolsterstone where you can visit the local Christmas Fayre and/or pub.

A moderate 10 mile walk from Redmires Reservoirs on the western side of Sheffield. We set off amid truly stunning countryside along the very edge of South Yorkshire and our route then takes in Stanage Edge and Burbage Rocks before returning across moorland. Pub stop and lunch in Ringinglow.
