An 11 Mile walk along Leigh Broadway to Chalkwell Park, then down to follow Prittle brook to Priory park, where after 4 miles we will stop for 20 minutes to enjoy the Priory, Museum and walled garden (All free). Then past St Mary;s church through Churchill gardens, past Southend Victoria station and on to Southchurch Hall, where after 6 miles we will stop for lunch and to explore the Grade 1 listed medieval moated house (Free). There are often interesting inhabitants to be seen swimming in the lake. On to Southchurch park to circumnavigate the boating lake, before following the shoreline back to the Pier, then up (passing the historic cliff lift) to Prittlewell square, where after 8 miles we will have a short rest in Southend's oldest public park, situated in a lovely Victorian square with views out over the pier. Then three easy miles to get us back to our starting point with optional pub finish. Bring a Packed Lunch

Meet 10.15 at Leigh-on-sea Station. Leave 10.30 promptly. Plenty of parking on two tree island found by driving down the side of Leigh station. Closest carparks charge, ones slightly further down the road are free.
Dogs are permitted on our walks at the leader's discretion. However they must be well behaved and kept on a lead.Please read the Ramblers dog walking code on the Ramblers website.
Be prepared ! Ensure that you wear walking boots/shoes, trainers can be worn in summer months. Clothing suitable for the weather conditions must be worn. Bring drinking water and food with you, if you're unsure what else to bring please ask.
