Varied circular walk through open country and mixed woodland, mainly along the Horsley Jubilee Trail, passing under 3 Lovelace bridges. Late pub/picnic lunch at West Horsley. Moderate pace. Map OS Exp 145.

Leisurely 8 miles / 12.9 km
A walk on paths through parkland and woods, with streets to cover at either end. The paths may be muddy after rain. For most of the walk people can walk two abreast. There are trees, flowers and bushes to see and birdlife on small lakes . We can stop for refreshments and a toilet break at The Windmill Tearooms, one mile into the walk and at Pembroke Lodge, six Miles into the walk. Allowing for stops and descriptions of points of interest, this walk is likely to take about four hours. Register your email with the leader for notification of changes

Varied circular walk via Chipstead Downs, Great Solom's Wood, Mayfield LAVENDER farm (public footpath, round Oaks Park and back to Chipstead Station through the lavender field again. A varied walk that includes parkland and fields and some inclines. Please note that if you would like to wander off the public footpath in the lavender field, then a fee is payableto Mayfield Lavender Farm (check website: https://www.mayfieldlavender.com). - additional time could be allowed for wandering for those that want immediately after the lunch break. NB: for those with bee sting allergies, please be aware of the greater number of bees due to the lavender flowering season (please make the leader aware if you carry an adrenaline pen in case of emergencies). Picnic/cafe lunch at Oaks Park. For those driving, cars can be left in Holly Lane car park, Banstead Woods (no charge). The group will pass through the car park within 10 minutes after leaving Chipstead Station. Difficulty: moderate. 10 stiles.

Moderate walk starting at the ruins of the 12th century Lesnes Abbey. Following the Green Chain as it climbs through ancient woods and parkland to the top of Shooters Hill. Picnic/Cafe lunch at Shooters Hill. Cafe can be very busy. Several opt out points. Finishing at the Thames Barrier.

Easy circular interest walk through the historic town and along the river Test via water-powered mills and the picturesque village of Freefolk with optional visit to the renovated (2018) working Silk Mill (entry £9 and £8 concessions). Picnic in churchyard or pub lunch at The Watership Down (award-winning) pub in Freefolk, which is very reasonably priced.
