A delightful contrast to the rolling Downland, as the deciduous woodland and hedgerows result in a wide variety of scenery. Past Hidden Spring Vineyard, Warbleton Church (and its memorial tablet to one of the 17 martyrs burned at Lewes in 1557), over Rushlake Green and onto the Church and Star Inn at Old Heathfield before turning back towards home, after 10 miles and 23 stiles.....

A moderate ramble following upper Downland Trails commencing at the car park at the top of the Downs above Firle village and heading in a westerly direction past the Transmitters and then turning in a more southerly direction passing the America Farm to meet paths above Denton where the route continues to Bishopstone. the ramble continues along established tracks to Bo'peep, and then returning along the South Downs Way over Firle Beacon and back to the starting point
