Writing in Countryfile magazine, Fergus Collins said that although most people think of the Cotswolds as being north of the M4 motorway, with those exquisitely charming honey-stoned towns and villages, he had to disagree. His Cotswolds lie between the motorway and Bath, an area with far fewer visitors that has a more authentic feel. This walk between Marshfield and West Littleton follows quiet lanes and little-used paths across a gently undulating landscape of pastureland bounded by dry-stone walls. Bring snack. (If you do wish to have a pub lunch after the walk, book your own table at the Catherine Wheel for 1300 hours.)

Wharf Theatre, Devizes Market Place, Drew’s Pond Wood, Oakfrith Wood, Stert Valley, Etchilhampton Hill, and back via Coate. Bring lunch.

A walk from Coleford (Highbury) to Leigh-on-Mendip, across fields and along the river, some stiles and could be muddy, it is quite hilly here too! This walk is limited to 15 members. No dogs. Bring snack.

11.2 miles / 18 km
A varied and interesting walk through fields, woods, disused quarries, nature reserves. Also a rare chance to visit the hidden Chantry Lake. Bring a snack and lunch.
Wednesday, 7 July 2021 (Group: West Wiltshire)
A linear walk to Frome via Lullington, Orchardleigh and Spring Gardens. There are several buses an hour back to Beckington from the Market Place, although you might wish to take time out to explore this lovely Somerset town, maybe even having a spot of lunch. Bring snack.
Pre-booking via text is essential with a limit of 12 people. I suspect there will be some reluctance to use public transport so this walk will only happen if we have at least 6 takers.
7.3 miles / 11.8 km
A pleasant walk from Bromham village centre to Chittoe and Spye Park through woods, parkland and fields with plenty of wildlife to see. There are a few slopes that can be a bit slippery if wet. Bring snack.
Sunday, 11 July 2021 (Group: West Wiltshire)
12 miles / 19.3 km
Visiting the delightful and interesting villages of Englishcombe, Wilmington, Inglesbatch, Priston, Tunley and Dunkerton. Back via the Fosse Way. A walking pole is useful for a steepish descent. Bring snack and lunch.
Wednesday, 14 July 2021 (Group: West Wiltshire)
Six and a half mile loop from Faulkland to Norton St Philip and back, ending at the Somerset Lavender Farm - generally flat walk along footpaths and across fields. Good views. The lavender should be in full bloom and there is a cafe at the Lavender Farm. Bring snack.
