Welcome to the Forfar and District group.
We are a small friendly group who enjoy nothing better than getting together for fresh air, exercise and socialising. Our walks are usually between 4 - 8 miles in length, providing a variety mix of walks ranging from leisurely walks to more challenging ones, of various lengths and grades. All walks are mindful of all members and are recce’d prior to walk commencing.
We are ideally situated for access to the beautiful Angus countryside and coast, as well as forays into surrounding areas such as Dundee, Perthshire and Fife. We walk every fortnight on Saturdays and have introduced midweek strolls.
Whilst there is nothing better than enjoying and exploring the beautiful landscapes, scenery and finding out some of the local history, it is also good to finish the walk with a visit to a coffee shop for a cuppy and a blether.
We also organise away days, which includes a yearly weekend away which this year is going to Nethybridge. So, if you are looking to have fun, improve your general wellbeing, get fit, and enjoy social activities with a laid back, friendly and welcoming bunch of people, then this is the ideal group for you!
You are welcome to join us for up to three walks before committing to membership. If you are nervous about joining any walk or unsure whether it is suitable for you, please get in touch and we will be happy to allay any fears about our walks.
One of the benefits of being a Ramblers as it is a UK-wide walking group, members can also join walks with any other group in the country.
