Overview

This event is now FULLY BOOKED.

A Burns Night on Friday the 2nd of February 2023 at Linlithgow Golf Club, starting at 6.30pm, sitting for 7pm.  I have organised a Burns night for Ramblers, partners and any friends that would like to come along (please let me know as soon as you can).  If we could all wear an item of tartan to suit the evening.

Linlithgow Golf Club will supply a 3-course meal, of Scotch Broth Soup, Haggis, neeps and tatties, Cranachan or cheese and biscuits, tea, coffee and shortbread (please let me know if you want the vegetarian option).  We will pipe in the haggis and Billy Richie will address it.  Chris M Dear will do Grace and after the meal, Findlay Erskine will recite a Burns Poem, then our two Burns speakers (will do their 5 to 10 minute speech)  Angus MaCarther will do the Address to the Lassies, Sue Lloyd will reply. There will be no Immortal Memory as this is too serious (we are there just to have fun). Tracey Hill and other singers from Linlithgow Ladies Choir will do a couple of songs, and to finish off the night, John Carswell, from Linlithgow Country Dance Club will "call" a couple of ceilidh dances.  Lastly Julie McArdle will do a vote of thanks.  It's certain to be a great night and please let me know by email info@craigswood.co.uk if you would like to come along.  The cost of the night is £18 per person, which should be paid on booking to the Linlithgow Ramblers account.
