Overview

This year’s Christmas themed Berkshire Walkers social, to mark the end of 2025, will be a bumper pub crawl across Reading town centre. This’ll also be a great opportunity for walkers, whether they’re experienced or new, to share any ideas for walks, trips, and socials for throughout 2026. Feel free to join the Social Secretary from 14:00 onwards for drinks and/or food to bring in the New Year, and please show your interest via Meetup.

However, this year’s pub crawl will be done differently to previous years. A few older BW members may remember the previous Social Secretary Daisy doing a series of fancy dress pub crawls prior to her travels. After a 3-year hiatus, the current Social Secretary will be bringing this back, with a theme of fancy dress based around the letter “D”.

The pubs we’ll be visiting are as follows:

  1. The Three Guineas.
  2. The Greyfriar.
  3. The Hope Tap.
  4. The Allied Arms.
  5. The Outlook.
  6. The Back of Beyond.
  7. Hope & Bear.
  8. The Lyndhurst.
  9. The Turks Head.

Please note, that this order may be subject to change, depending on how busy these pubs will be on the day.
