Strenuous 20 miles / 32.2 km
We have arranged a walk challenge day at Weston, which is just 2 miles from junction 9 of the A1(M) near Baldock. The event will consist of four ‘petals’ of between four and six miles in length starting and ending at a central point which will be led consecutively by different HWW leaders. You can choose to walk any number of petals you want, giving you the option of eight different lengths of walk between 4 and 20 miles. Hopefully this day will offer something for everyone.
The walks are:
Petal 1 - Church End & Hall’s Green - 5 miles (9.00-11.00)
Petal 2 - Damask Green & East Graveley - 5 miles (11.15-1.15)
Petal 3 - Weston Hills & Clothall - 6 miles (2.00-4.15)
Petal 4 - Warren’s Green & Weston Park - 4 miles (4.30-6.00)
Each 'petal' walk is listed individually on the Ramblers walks finder.
Starting point for all the walks: meet at The Cricketers, Damask Green Road, Weston, SG4 7DA. You may use the pub car park (by kind permission of the owners).
You must ensure that you bring enough sustenance to last the day. It is essential that walks start promptly to maintain the pace of the event.
There will be a short break after the second 'petal' to enable people to eat their lunches.
