This is a circular walk
The Newbiggin by the Sea walk starts at the car park next to the Maritime Heritage Centre, Church Point, Newbiggin-by-the-Sea NE64 6DB on the north side of the bay, this Saturday the 14th of July.
There are toilets at the Maritime Centre (a token payment is appreciated).
The walk will be mostly flat (except some steps up from the promenade) and mud-free. Sticks and gaiters shouldn't be necessary.
We will have a lunch break next to the lake in Queen Elizabeth Park near The Woodhorn Museum. The Museum Trust have introduced a new charging policy this year. The entry to Woodhorn used to be free (there was a car-parking charge) but now costs £7.00 (multiple entry), £6.00 concessionary.
The members on the walk can go into the museum, but I think it is hardly worth it, unless they intend to return at later times. The 5.5 mile walk is mostly on firm ground, there are three stiles.
We will return via the town centre where ice-cream, tea, coffee, etc. are to be had.
