Simon G's Reigate Hill, Headley and Walton circular
Sunday, 23 September 2018
Start time: 10:30
(Estimated finish time: 16:30)
Moderate 10.5 miles / 16.9 km
A beautiful circular walk. We cross over the bridge to the top of Reigate hill for wonderful views. We then drop down to the base of the North downs and walk through woods with views across fields and up to the downs before turning across fields towards Betchworth. We then head up the hill to Headley Heath where we stop for lunch - there is usually a kiosk selling snacks. We cut across to Walton on the Hill before returning to our start point across the wide open spaces of Walton Heath. There is a pub about 400 m before the end of the walk where some of us will probably pause for a drink.
Wray Lane(National Trust Carpark). Access from M25 J8 - head South into Reigate from M25 junction and take first left down minor road
Note this car park can be busy. Please consider car-sharing. Free.
Note, if full the nearest alternative is Margery Wood car park on the other side of the M25 - head N from the roundabout and turn first left. Parking charge (pay by phone only) or NT sticker.
