Moderate 10 miles / 16.1 km
Bonehill, Holwell Lawn, Hound Tor, Jay's Grave, Grimspound, Hameldon, and return to Widecombe. This walk is on the strenuous side of moderate as there are two steep or long climbs and one long and steep descent. It is on quiet minor roads, footpaths and bridleways and open moorland tracks. The route will pass a deserted medieval village, the grave of Kitty Jay, the bronze age settlement of Grimspound and a ridge of cairns on Hameldon, the highest point on the Two Moors Way from where there are impressive and extensive views.
Widecombe car park.
This is a circular walk
