A brisk walk to Petworth House, one of the National Trust's finest properties. The walk ends at Petworth but self-guide to visit the house or explore the deer park, then catch a bus back to Pulborough. There is a charge for admission to the house for non-NT members but there is no charge to enter Petworth Park, landscaped by Lancelot “Capability” Brown in the 1750s and widely acknowledged to be one of his finest creations.
Lunch: Plenty of pubs and cafes in Petworth or picnic in the park.
Pulborough station [Map:E121, 133 & 134]

Train: Victoria 9:36; Clapham Jct 9:43; E Croydon 9:53; Arr 10:51 (Bognor Regis train). Buy return to Pulborough. Hourly bus service from Petworth to Pulborough.
