Fiona’s Sandhurst to Bodiam circular
Sunday, 3 February 2019
Start time: 10:30
(Estimated finish time: 15:00)
Moderate 8 miles / 12.9 km
This is approximately an eight mile walk. We start in the village of Sandhurst and walk through fields and woodland to Bodiam Castle. A 14th century moated castle.
Here you can either choose to have a picnic lunch in the the castle grounds or eat at the National Trust tea shop which could be warmer. There is the Castle Inn which is near by and could be busy.
There will be time to wander in to the castle itself if you choose to. There is an entry fee if you are not a National Trust member. We then return to Sandhurst along a different route.
For refreshments after the walk there is a pub and tea rooms in Sandhurst.
Parking is around the green in Sandhurst on the Bodiam Road and Back Road. This is just off the main road A268 which runs through the village.
