We then follow the New River Path and do a circuit of Woodberry Wetlands before picking up a link along some quiet residential streets for an exploration of the recently opened Walthamstow Wetlands. Dogs are not permitted in the Wetland nature reserves but could take an alternative route. No toilets at Alexander Palace station but there are facilities at Highgate Wood, about an hour into the walk.
Terrain: Pavement, tarmac paths in parks, firm paths in the nature reserves. New River Path will be muddy.
