Easy 7 miles / 11.3 km
A very pleasant easy 7 mile walk starting at the Anchor Inn at Salterforth we walk for a short distance along the Leeds and Liverpool canal before progressing toward Weets Hill above Barnoldswick with views across to the Blacko Tower. We will also visit some very unusual sculptures en route (bring your camera!!).
We then return to the Anchor Inn at Salterforth for a well earned beer or coffee. The pub also serves breakfasts and dinner for anyone interested (call 01282 850055 to confirm serving times).
Start time 11.30am. We will stop for a short lunch break. The walk should take approximately 3.5 to 4 hours. Well behaved dogs are welcome but must remain on the lead.
Meet across from the Anchor Inn (BB18 5TT) beside the canal. There is a small public car park across from the pub beside the canal. I have spoken with the landlord and we can also use the pub car park but as a courtesy, please only do so if you intend having a drink there later.
Additional parking can be found a short walk away at the site of the former Silentnight factory BB18 5TF (off Earby Road).
