Steep Walking For Beginners!
Saturday, 6 April 2019
Start time: 13:30
(Estimated finish time: 16:30)
Moderate 5.5 miles / 8.8 km
A lovely, varied 5.5 mile circular walk from Steep Village Hall taking in country roads, woods, pastures and a scenic track up Ashford Hanger via LIttle Switzerland. This will be walked at a pace to suit newish walkers who would like to try a hill climb and descent. It is mostly gradual walking up a good track but has some short steep bursts - well worth it and we will have a good break at the top to enjoy the views.
Please bring a snack and drink, and walking poles would be helpful. Well behaved dogs welcome, lead required through farmland.
Refreshments afterwards at The Cricketers Inn.
As a courtesy to the leader and other walkers please aim to be at the walk start 15 minutes ahead of the start time.
Start: Steep VIllage Hall car park, Church Road, Steep
The easiest way to locate the car park is to follow Bell Hill towards Steep, from the roundabout west of Petersfield Station - when you see the sign for The Crickerters Inn turn right immediately before it into Church Road and the Village Hall car park is a short way along on the right by a phone box.
