Albrighton and Kingswood
Sunday, 8 December 2019
Meeting time: 9:00
Start time: 10:00
(Estimated finish time: 15:00)
Leisurely 8 miles / 12.9 km
This leisurely walk criss-crosses the Staffordshire / Shropshire border using a mixture of country lanes, tracks, footpaths and bridleways, so expect some mud. It is reasonably flat (one gentle ascent) with a few stiles but does offer some good country views. There are two short sections on a main road.
We will stop for lunch about three quarters of the way round in Albrighton, the most easterly village in Shropshire. In Albrighton there are benches to eat sandwiches plus a pub and café. There are no facilities on route except for the pub and café in Albrighton.
For car share, Sandwell Road car park, West Bromwich.

Meet at Kingswood car park, off A41, Kingswood, Staffordshire. (The postcode is only a rough navigational aid and will take you to a nearby house.)
From Junction 3 of M54, follow the A41 towards Wolverhampton. When you pass the Kingswood sign, look out for a lay by and phone box on the right. The car park is on the right, just after the layby, phone box and County Lane.
From Wolverhampton follow the A41 North. About half a mile after the A464 turn off for Shifnal there is a small car park on the left. If you have passed the layby, phone box and County Lane, you have missed it.
If needed, there is also parking for a few cars in the lay by and a side road off county lane. 26 miles from West Bromwich.
