The walk is the traditional mince pie walk and so can I encourage those taking part to bring some mince pies or similiar tea time treat to share out at the mince pie event to be held at Sutton Scotney Village Hall after the completion of the walk .
This walk starts off at the woodland carpark in Micheldever Woods. We follow a south easterly route along the Oxdrove Way to Itchen Stoke Down and pick up the Three Castles Path to Itchen Abbas. We cross the river to the Allen King Way before returning to Itchen Abbas and the pub. The morning is approximately 5 miles . The afternoon is 4 miles and we head west and north back to the car park via Chilandham Farm and Itchen Woods .
The walk will involve a number of stiles and, given the time of year and recent rain, it will be muddy in places, so poles are advised .
At the end of the walk all are invited to Sutton Scotney Village Hall for the mince pies etc . Journey time from the finish approx 15 minutes .
The Pub for lunch is The Plough at Itchen Abass . See additional information for details and menu choices .
