Moderate 10.6 miles / 17 km
Starting from Torphichen, walk to the River Avon at Wallace's cave (actually an arch), then along the river past the birthplace of enry Bell, pioneer of stream ships, over Carriber bridge to Muiravonside. Cross the river by the Union canal's Avon Aqueduct and return by an old right of way to Lochcote reservoir.
Some very muddy parts with narrow paths.
