Strenuous 11 miles / 17.7 km
A walk in the Surrey Hills close to Dorking. A shortish morning takes us via the Greensand Way to Wotton for lunch (picnic, pub). During the afternoon we climb to a viewpoint on the Nower, returning to our start point through Glory Wood and the outskirts of Dorking itself.
Meet Holmwood Common NT car park, Inholms Lane, North Holmwood. From A25, turn L A24 at 'Giant Chicken' roundabout for North Holmwood. At the first roundabout on A24, turn L, then in about 200m take 2nd L (Inholms Lane), past the church. Where the road bends sharp L, the car park entrance is on your right.
This is a circular walk
This is one of hundreds of Ramblers group walks for all ages and abilities every week - all led by our experienced walk leaders. You’re welcome to join us on any of our walks to see if the Ramblers is for you. Then, once you’ve enjoyed the views, fun, exhilaration and good company, it’s just a case of becoming a member.
Do make sure you're fit enough and have the right footwear and clothing for the walk you want to do, though. You can contact the group or leader if in doubt.
