Moderate 15 miles / 24.1 km
This is a walk of contrasts, taking in rough hills, rolling farmland, coast and riverside meadows in the area around Bryncrug. The walk starts by following an old track up alongside Nant Braich-y-Rhiw, soon leaving the farmland to break out into more open hill country. Reaching a path junction at the high point of some 300 metres, we turn to make our way down into Cwm Maethlon, crossing to the other side of the valley to take a path which climbs up again before dropping down to the cemetery outside Aberdovey. With the hills now behind us, our route heads along the coast to Tywyn. Here, we make our way inland again to pick up a path beside the Afon Dysynni which we follow back to Bryncrug.
You will need to follow government guidelines on social distancing and hygiene precautions and on transport to the start. Please refer to Ramblers guidance for walkers "Ramblers Restart: Taking part in COVID-safe walks" by clicking the link below, before deciding whether this walk is right for you.
