A very hilly (8 hills) and strenuous walk of 13 miles totalling 2260 ft of ascent in this most beautiful part of the Chilterns.
From Cadmore End, we head west towards Harecramp Cottages before our first ascent to Ibstone House. Then we head to ascent. From Ibstone Common, following the Chiltern Way, we walk down towards Hale Wood before our third ascent to Halecorner Farm, going through Great Wood. After a short walk along Ibstone Road, we reach Holloway Lane. From there, our fourth ascent takes us to Turville Grange and then Dolesden Lane. After a short and fifth ascent leading to Southend, we take the Shakespeare’s Way before our sixth ascent to Turville Court. From there, we stroll down to Turville and then climb Turville Hill which makes our seventh ascent. After a pause near its famous windmill landmark, we walk down to Chequers Lane before reaching the top of Hanger Wood for this eighth and final ascent. From there we head back to our starting point in Cadmore End.
