Moderate 10 miles / 16.1 km
This circular walk starts at the village of Ibstone. There is a tranquillity and sense of remoteness about this walk, with the landscape of beech woods and sweeping chalk valleys is unmistakably that of the Chilterns. The feeling of remoteness is further reinforced by the two villages that are passed through en route: both Turville and Fingest are small, largely unchanged and apparently timeless villages with distinctive and interesting churches, tucked away in a quiet valley.
Please bring a lunch, refreshment, face mask and it is recommended you bring hand sanitiser too. There are muddy sections so please wear suitable footwear. There is also an optional pub stop at the end of the walk at The Fox Country Inn, Ibstone.
Meet for a 10.00 start on Ibstone Common, opposite Ibstone Cricket Club on Grays Lane. Please park carefully around the common.
