Moderate 10 miles / 16.1 km
Oare Marshes, the Swale and Luddenham Meet outside the Castle Inn, 2 The St, Oare. (Free on street parking). We will follow the Oare Creek (part of the Saxon Shore Way) northwards into the Oare Marshes Nature Reserve. When we reach the Swale there are wonderful marsh and estuary views, with the Isle of Sheppey across the water. This next stretch of the walk westwards along the Swale is particularly remote. When we reach Fowley Island we head inland and walk through small villages and past orchards and farms back to Oare. There will be a 30 minute lunch break at Deerton Natural Burial Ground. Please bring a packed lunch. Maximum of 20 people (including the leader and back marker). To book a place on this walk, please contact Deborah Quow via text on 07963 402294 or email deborahquow@gmail.com
This is a circular walk
This is one of hundreds of Ramblers group walks for all ages and abilities every week - all led by our experienced walk leaders. You’re welcome to join us on any of our walks to see if the Ramblers is for you. Then, once you’ve enjoyed the views, fun, exhilaration and good company, it’s just a case of becoming a member.
Do make sure you're fit enough and have the right footwear and clothing for the walk you want to do, though. You can contact the group or leader if in doubt.
