Leisurely 5.5 miles / 8.8 km
Update 09/07/22: about 60-70 % of the walk has tree cover/shade which will help with the heat. We will have plenty of short breaks for a drink of water - please bring plenty, plus a hat and maybe light coloured long sleeves. The route is good underfoot, we cut back the vegetation in Sutton park on Tuesday - just one tree trunk to step over and another low one to duck under. All the 5 stiles in good condition. We follow paths and tracks via the Sutton Park woodland to reach Brockwood Copse Our return route takes us along Green Lane then south on Bosenhill Lane and back up the valley to West Meon church.
Park in the gravel car park by the West Meon village hall (signed from the A32). The post code takes you to the houses but well signed.
This is a circular walk
2 stiles early on in the walk and 2 in the fields towards the end with a stone step by the church. No steep ascents/descentsPlease bring refreshments for the mid-walk break. Plenty of water for the breaks. Maps: Outdoor Leisure 3 and Explorer 119
This is one of hundreds of Ramblers group walks for all ages and abilities every week - all led by our experienced walk leaders. You’re welcome to join us on any of our walks to see if the Ramblers is for you. Then, once you’ve enjoyed the views, fun, exhilaration and good company, it’s just a case of becoming a member.
Do make sure you're fit enough and have the right footwear and clothing for the walk you want to do, though. You can contact the group or leader if in doubt.
