Moderate 8.3 miles / 13.4 km
A circular walk from Goathland with (hopefully sightings of steam trains) and some great views. The route is down to the station and across the Moors to Darnholme and Beck Hole. From there we walk to Grosmont close to the railway line before returning through woods and moorland back to Beck Hole and the ascent to the car park on the old railway incline. Some steep ascents and descents.
Meet at the entrance to the car park. Charge for car park is £3.50
This is a circular walk
Assistance dogs only.
This is one of hundreds of Ramblers group walks for all ages and abilities every week - all led by our experienced walk leaders. You’re welcome to join us on any of our walks to see if the Ramblers is for you. Then, once you’ve enjoyed the views, fun, exhilaration and good company, it’s just a case of becoming a member.
Do make sure you're fit enough and have the right footwear and clothing for the walk you want to do, though. You can contact the group or leader if in doubt.
