Strenuous 14 miles / 22.5 km
A LINEAR WALK involving train & bus travel
A long days's walk linking Ribblesdale with Wharfedale.
Tacking the worst at the start we have a steep climb out of Settle and then follow the Dales Highway to Malham Tarn followed by Mastiles Lane down to Kilnsey before crossing the river to Conistone and then following the Dales Way for the last couple of miles to Grassington.
The 9 am start allows for parking in Skipton, catching the train to Settle arriving at 8:49 and returning to Skipton by bus from Grassington (approx. hourly from 15:15 to 18:30). Alternatively text me and I'm happy to act as co-ordinator for car sharing
Skipton Railway Station to catch the 8.26 train to Settle. Suggest you buy ticket in advance
Settle market place
Grassington. for bus back to Skipton. Last bus is at 18.30 but we will need to check all times nearer the time as all public transport is subject to change
This is a linear walk
This is one of hundreds of Ramblers group walks for all ages and abilities every week - all led by our experienced walk leaders. You’re welcome to join us on any of our walks to see if the Ramblers is for you. Then, once you’ve enjoyed the views, fun, exhilaration and good company, it’s just a case of becoming a member.
Do make sure you're fit enough and have the right footwear and clothing for the walk you want to do, though. You can contact the group or leader if in doubt.
