Annat Loop + optional Recital

Sunday, 17 July 2022

Meeting time: 9:00
Start time: 9:45
(Estimated finish time: 14:00)

Moderate 6.5 miles / 10.5 km

Group Strathtay

A short but interesting loop walk on the north side of Loch Rannoch starting about a mile west of Kinloch Rannoch.  The walk takes in the abandoned village of Annat and follows the right of way to Dalnaspidal for a short distance, climbing enough to enjoy fine moorland views across Loch Rannoch and towards Schiehallion.  On the way down through birch woods towards Craiganour and Aulich, opportunity to experience the Skyspace art installation before walking back along the road by the loch shore. Good tracks, muddy in parts, and some road-walking.

RADO

We expect to have completed the walk including quick coffee and lunch stops by 2pm.

For the musically inclined, there is a piano recital by Nicholas Ashton in the Old Church, Kinloch Rannoch, at 3pm, tickets £8 at the door.  Three of us are certainly going to the recital and others are very welcome to join us; please advise when booking the walk whether you intend to come to the concert so that we can work out musical and non-musical car shares.
