Strenuous 12 miles / 19.3 km
Matthew is leading a 12 mile Moderate to Strenuous walk.
MODERATE TO STRENUOUS CIRCULAR HILL WALK: Starting from Hassop Station Cafe in Bakewell, we will walk for a short distance along the Monsal Trail before going off road heading for the hills towards Eyam Village bypassing the quarry site used for filming part of the latest Mission Impossible sequel. As with previous day this is a moderate to strenuous hill walk which just falls short of 2000ft total ascent with some long progressive trails in places especially the footpath to Eyam Village where we will stop for lunch.
After lunch, there is a steep stoney step descent through a section of remote woodland that some may find tricky underfoot, followed by a high level ridge edge that needs to be negotiated
TERRAIN: Mixture of beautiful, woodland and remote moorland. Some of the terrain is rough and uneven underfoot. Some less strenuous pathways and trails for recovery :-) Some areas maybe very wet/boggy if there has been rainfall the preceding days prior to event. Some sections of walking on lanes.
Please arrive at 10:15 for a 10:30 start.
