Moderate 9 miles / 14.5 km
The walk climbs from Broadmayne to the South Dorset Ridgeway with its excellent views over Weymouth Bay and numerous burial mounds (barrows). The walk joins the Jubilee Trail near Came Woods and passes through the walled hamlet of Whitcombe where the Church has connections with the Dorset dialect poet, William Barnes. We then follow the Jubilee Trail through the pretty village of West Knighton before returning to Broadmayne
The walk starts from Osmington Drove in Broadmayne. Please park considerately on the side of the road.
This is a circular walk
This one of the series of walks organised by Dorset Ramblers over the weekend of 24-25 September to celebrate the role played by Rosemary Bramah in establishing and maintaining the Jubilee Trail across Dorset.
Picnic lunch
This is one of hundreds of Ramblers group walks for all ages and abilities every week - all led by our experienced walk leaders. You’re welcome to join us on any of our walks to see if the Ramblers is for you. Then, once you’ve enjoyed the views, fun, exhilaration and good company, it’s just a case of becoming a member.
Do make sure you're fit enough and have the right footwear and clothing for the walk you want to do, though. You can contact the group or leader if in doubt.
