Tiger Bay Ramblers welcomes everyone on its walks and this year we are launching a new walking and hiking group for people in their 20s-30s, for younger people based in South Wales. If you are under 40 years of age and looking to have fun, get fit, and meet a welcoming bunch of people, then this will be the ideal group for you!
From the visitors centre at Llandegfedd Lake we will walk clock-wise around a circular route, which will involve some woodlands, public roads, fields and unmade paths. The ground will be muddy if wet so appropriate footwear should be worn and attendee's should come prepared for the weather on the day.
Our route takes us on a scenic path around the reservoir which was completed in 1966 and has a capacity of 5,300 million gallons when full ! We will stop for lunch and breaks during the walk so please bring food and drinks to take with you.
Upon our return to the visitor centre we will enjoy refreshments in the cafe.
Parts of the route pass through a conservation area and site of special scientific interest (SSSI) which is closed from 1st October until 1st March annually, so this will be our last chance to explore the route this year!
Dogs are permitted provided they are under control and on a lead where appropriate.
Toilet and cafe facilities are available at the walk start point; car parking charges apply (£3 to park all day, payable by card or cash)
If you are interested in joining our new new walking group for younger people but are not available for this walk, please contact secretarytigerbayramblers.org.uk to register your interest.
