🌿 Join us for a steady, flat stroll through fields, woodland and an old railway track east side of Tetbury.
📍 Location: Tetbury
📅 Date: October 26th
⏳ Time: 09:45am meet (10:00am start)
🗺️ Distance: 10miles (might even be 9.9)
🚕 Parking: Old Railway Long Stay Car Park (GL8 8EY)
👣 Walk Description:
Starting at the Goods Shed we'll take the old railway out toward the A433 branching alongside until we deviate towards a little village coincidentally named ... Ashley. I do not own this village. Sorry.
From there it's fields south following the Monarch Way until we hit Long Newton. A quick skip, hop and jump across a main road before heading into the Shipton Moyne area. Then it's just back up to Tetbury whilst avoiding all the posh farmers and their private lands.
There will be options for refreshments at the end of the walk, either tea/coffee and a selection of sweet or savoury snacks at Tetbury Goods Shed or a beverage at the Royal Oak Pub. Maybe both. Maybe neither.
⭐️ Highlights
* The River Avon
* Fellow Ramblers
⚠️ Hazards
* Possibly wet and mucky underfoot in places; quite a few fields. This only applies if we've recently had wet weather.
* B4014; this can be a busy road, so crossing in small groups is advised.
🔊 Useful Information
* There won't be any facilities until the end, so please plan accordingly.
🚕 Parking
* Old Railway Parking (GL8 8EY); spaces can be limited so please car share where possible. There is alternative parking in Tetbury just up the road (Chippings Car Park). Both are free Sunday.
