Overview

Our ramble this week starts at an earlier time with a 09.00 ferry crossing from Lymington to Yarmouth on Wightlink Ferries.

On disembarking in the Isle of Wight we will ramble, in a figure of eight configuration, from Yarmouth to Freshwater Bay and return along pavements, footpaths, bridleways and quiet country lanes.

The ramble contains both 5 and 5+ mile options … both with pit stops.

Those choosing the 5 mile ramble will break for coffee at The End of The Line Café and will re-join the whole group as they return from Freshwater.

Those opting for the 5+ will break for a banana stop at Freshwater Bay before commencing the return journey to Yarmouth.

Our lunch time stop will be in Yarmouth where there are a range of eateries offering lunches…e.g. The Bugle Coaching Inn, The Kings Head (sister pub of the Bugle £15.00 a head lunch), The Wheatsheaf Inn, The Gossips Café (overlooking the Solent) or Jireh House (a 17th century guest house, restaurant and tea rooms (in the centre of Yarmouth)

Also for those who choose to picnic there is a nice area with tables and seating along the River Western Yar near to the ferry terminal.

After lunch there will be time to explore Yarmouth and perhaps enjoy an ice cream before we board the 15.05 ferry for our return crossing.

Please use the email link to let the leader know if you are planning to attend.
