We are the Chester-le-Street Ramblers. We open the way for everyone in our local community to enjoy the pleasures of walking.
Kendal
Coach Trip to Kendal Sunday 8th October 2023
We will meet at Chester-Le-Street Civic Centre car park as normal, between 08.10 and 08.20 a.m.
Rucksacks, with walking poles firmly attached, will be placed in the luggage compartment below the coach.
We will then travel by luxury coach to Kendal leaving at 08.30 a.m. prompt.
Upon arrival in Kendal, everyone will leave the coach. The drop-off and pick-up point will be close to Kendal Bus Station.
All walkers will leave Kendal together, following the river Kent South towards Sizergh Castle, which is a distance of approximately five & a half miles
The coach company states that the gates into Sizergh Castle are too narrow for our coach so it will be parked outside of the grounds when we arrive.
Those on the shorter walk will board the coach and be taken back to Kendal to spend the rest of the day at leisure.
Those on the longer walk will continue onwards and upwards towards the castle and Scout Scar.
We will have a rest on the seating outside of the castle café, then continue up to enjoy 360-degree views of the southern lake district before finally descending back into Kendal town.
Everyone will leave the Kendal Bus Station area at 17.30 pm prompt for the return journey back to Chester-Le-Street.
Note - The coach does not have a toilet onboard.
