Overview

Newton Hall to Durham

An easy to moderate 5.5 mile autumn walk, largely on good paths, and without any stiles, with lovely views over open fields and parkland. We start from a parking area near to the Weardale way and at the south side of Frankland Prison. We will head towards Aykley Heads and then south to Wharton Park, returning past Crook Hall and Frankland Farm. Afterwards we will head to the Tea Barn, at nearby Pity Me Nursery, for refreshments.
