We are the Taff Ely Ramblers. We open the way for everyone in our local community to enjoy the pleasures of walking.

From ASDA, we will walk past Machine Pond and head to the Nantyglo Roundhouses. Using quiet tracks, we will ascend, gradually to start, before a short steeper section using narrow paths to join a major track, where we will be able to look down upon Coalbrookvale, Nantyglo, Blaina and Cwmtillery. If the weather is kind, we should also be able to see Sugar Loaf.
We will then head for the trig point of Mynydd Carn-cefn before descending, mainly gently, to the outskirts of Ebbw Vale (Newtown and Newchurch) and then the outskirts of Beaufort. We may be able to see Penyfan if the weather is kind.
Our final section will take us through Parc Nant Y Waun, past Horsetail Pond.
Very few stiles but with a narrow step. Quite wet and muddy in places as a result of lots of rain in the past few weeks. There are usually cattle on the mountain but seem fairly calm. There may also be sheep on the mountain. Dogs are very welcome.
