Please meet at the car park near the beach - it is preferable to use what3words rather than the postcode as this also takes you to the High street . Parking is £3.50 for the day - pay with cash or card . There are public toilets a very short distance from the car
park .
This is an easy leisurely walk of approximately 4.5 miles . We follow the beach path to the south for a short time and after leaving Alnmouth take a public footpath towards the pretty village of Lesbury. We will then drop down to walk besides the river and across farmland until we reach the golf club on the coast from where we return to Alnmouth .
It is an easy route apart from a moderate ascent out of the valley towards the coast .There are no stiles. On the day of the recce the long grass was quite wet and overgrown so you should wear long trousers and bring poles if you normally use them .
In Alnmouth itself there are several pubs and cafes for refreshment at the end .
