Overview

A moderate, varied walk of 8.5 miles. We start in Alrewas and walk on field paths following the River Trent up to Yoxall Bridge, which was built in the mid-eighteenth century and used until 1998 when it was replaced by the modern bridge. We then walk through the lovely village of Yoxall, which has an entry in the Domesday Book of 1086, with the original name of 'Locheshale', meaning 'farm in the valley'. We return to Alrewas along the National Forest Way and Millennium Way on tracks, field and woodland paths.

There are around ten well-maintained stiles.

Refreshments available in Alrewas after the walk.
