Meet Amersham Underground which has toilet facilities. A delightful walk through the Chilterns with some excellent views. Our first village is Coleshill which is 550 feet above sea level, the second village is Winchmore Hill followed by Penn Street which is our lunch stop where you have a choice of two pubs The Squirrel & Hit or Miss pub. Toilets at the two respective pubs.
Afternoon walk through Penn Wood passing through Beamond End which was the 13th century ancestral home the Penn family. William Penn founded Pennsylvania in 1681.The last Village is Little Missenden We then pick up the South Bucks Way following the River Misbourne back to Old Amersham and Amersham Tube Station.
Drop off point Penn street buses back to Amersham. Bus at 12:41 & 13:41 Carousel buses.co.uk. Please check the timetable.
Lunch - picnic or pub
Train - Either take the tube from Baker Street or Chiltern Line from Marylebone station leaving at 09:56 arriving Amersham at 10:32. Amersham station is in Zone 9 and Freedom Passes are valid.
